The Craft Studio is a craft shop and teaching studio, run by Ruth Hills from two locations in St Austell. Ruth teaches workshops and offers a programme of classes from visiting tutors. She also attends county events and crafting shows in her area.
Her website needed to be an information point for existing customers, letting them know about new products in the shop, keeping them up to date with class information and letting them know which events Ruth would be attending.
It also needed to provide information for visitors in what is a high traffic tourist area in Cornwall.
Ruth had colours and fonts in mind before we began and from that we developed a wire frame outline of the site in her chosen colours.
To appeal to the crafters that form Ruth’s customer base, we made use of photographs of colourful materials and project to create enticing headers on each page, with Ruth’s trademark lilac and purple as the unifying colour throughout.
